Metallics QL18 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size chain does the Metallics QL18 rapid link work with?
The QL18 is a 1/8 inch rapid link, so it is sized to join or terminate 1/8 inch chain. If the chain on your hanging run is a heavier trade size, this link is the wrong part for it.
2) Is the Metallics QL18 rapid link sold individually or in a box?
It comes 25 links to a pack under part number QL18, which is how it ships for chain-hung fixture work where you are making up multiple drops at once.
3) Is the QL18 chain link plated for corrosion resistance, and can I use it outdoors?
The QL18 link is zinc plated, which handles dry indoor and covered locations. Zinc plating is not a marine or wet-location coating, so for exposed exterior or damp corrosive areas use stainless or hot-dip galvanized hardware instead.
