Metallics QL316 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size chain does the Metallics QL316 rapid link work with?
The QL316 is a 3/16 inch rapid link, so it mates with 3/16 inch chain. Rapid links thread closed by hand (no tools), which is why electricians use them for hanging fixtures and strut from chain rather than opening a chain link with pliers.
2) How many rapid links come in a box of Metallics QL316?
Each QL316 pack is 25 links, so it is a bulk quantity meant for a job or a van stock rather than a single hang point.
3) Is the QL316 rapid link suitable for damp or outdoor use?
The QL316 is zinc plated, which is a general-purpose corrosion-resistant finish for dry and normally dry interior locations. For sustained wet, washdown, coastal, or chemically aggressive environments, specify a stainless steel link instead of zinc plated.
4) What is the Metallics part number for the 3/16 inch zinc plated rapid link?
Order it as Metallics QL316. That is the 3/16 inch zinc plated rapid link, supplied 25 per pack.
