Metallics QL38 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size chain does the Metallics QL38 rapid link join?
The QL38 is a 3/8 inch rapid link, so it is sized to connect 3/8 inch chain. Rapid links (quick links) thread closed with a sleeve nut, which lets you join two chain ends or hang a chain from an eye bolt or anchor without a mechanical press or welded link. Finish is zinc plated.
2) How many rapid links come in a pack of Metallics QL38?
Each pack of the QL38 is 25 pieces, which is how it ships for jobs like hanging runs of strut, light fixtures, or signage where you need a link at every drop point rather than one or two spares.
3) Is a zinc plated rapid link OK for outdoor or damp locations?
The QL38 carries a zinc plated finish, which is a coating for general indoor and dry-to-damp use. Zinc plating gives limited corrosion resistance and will eventually rust in continuous wet, coastal, or chemically aggressive conditions, so for exterior exposure or washdown areas specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless link instead.
