Fit as a new install or as a quick retrofit when upgrading from basic single code mechanical locks.

The CL2200 is a medium duty electronic lock. The bolt slides on the inside surface of the door to lock or unlock.  The bolt is moved manually by means of the outside knob after the code is entered, and freely by the inside knob at all times.

When a valid code is entered and the blue LED lights burn, the knob will retract the bolt. The key will open the door for management functions. Code Free Mode can be programmed at the keypad using the Master Code.

1) Do I need to order the CL2200 in a specific hand for a left or right hung door?
No handing to specify. The CL2200 is non handed and fits doors hung on either the left or the right, so one part number covers a mixed building. The bolt is mounted vertically on the inside face of the door.
2) How does the CL2200 actually lock and unlock the door?
It is a surface deadbolt, so the bolt slides along the inside face of the door rather than through a bored cross hole. From outside you enter the code, the blue LEDs light, and the outside knob then moves the bolt. From inside the knob works the bolt freely at all times, with no code needed to get out.
3) How many door codes can a property manager issue on the CL2200?
Up to 80 user codes are stored, plus 10 one-time codes for contractors or one-off access. Codes can be 4, 5 or 6 digits. All programming is done at the keypad on the door using the Master Code, so there is no software, no cable, and no need to pull the lock off.
4) What happens if the batteries die while someone is outside the door?
Two things cover it. A red LED flashes on opening to warn the batteries are low before it gets that far, and if power is fully gone you can hold a PP3 battery against the external contacts to power the keypad and get in.
