CL4000 Electronic Glass Door Lock

Medium duty electronic patch door lock offering all the functions of the CL4000.

The CL4000GD is a medium duty electronic patch door lock. The outside lever turns freely without operating the latchbolt. When a valid code is entered and the blue LED lights, the lever will retract the latchbolt. When the door closes the spring latch will automatically lock the door. The key will open the door for management functions. The key may be used to set the lock into Code Free mode so that anyone can open the door without using a code. Code Free mode can also be programmed at the keypad using the Master Code.

1) Is the Codelocks CL4000 handed, and can I use it on an out-swinging door?
Handing is not a problem: the CL4000 is non handed and fits doors hung left or right, with the lever supplied as either right hand or left hand. Swing is the real limit. It suits in-swinging doors only, so for a glass door that swings out you need a different device.
2) Can the CL4000 glass door lock be used on an exterior entrance?
No. The CL4000GD is rated for internal use and is a medium duty lock, so it belongs on interior glass doors: office suites, school and clinic corridors, back-of-house doors in hotels and leisure buildings. For a glass entrance exposed to weather, specify a lock rated for external use instead.
3) How does the Codelocks CL4000 actually operate, and does it lock itself when the door shuts?
Outside lever spins free until a valid code is entered. When the blue LED lights, the lever retracts the latchbolt. It is a mortise spring latch, so the door relocks on its own the moment it closes, with nothing for staff to remember. Codes are 4, 5 or 6 digits and get changed at the keypad on the door, no software or wiring involved.
4) Can I still get into the door with a key if the code is forgotten or the batteries die?
Yes, the CL4000 takes a key for management functions and to open the door. The key also puts the lock into Code Free mode so anyone can walk through without entering a code, useful for business hours on an office or school door. Code Free can also be set at the keypad using the Master Code. Keyed alike is available if you want one key across several doors.
5) How many people can I give codes to on a Codelocks CL4000?
