No. The 8030LW Dearborn nut is supplied less washer, meaning the rubber or nylon slip joint washer is not in the package. If you are building up a trap or tailpiece joint from scratch, order the matching 1-1/4 inch slip joint washer separately. If you are only replacing a cracked or stripped nut and the old washer is still soft and unsplit, the nut alone finishes the job.
2) What size tubing does the Oatey 8030LW Dearborn nut fit?
It is a 1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch slip joint nut, so it threads onto 1-1/4 inch slip joint threads and passes 1-1/4 inch tubular waste. That is the common lavatory trap and tailpiece size. For a kitchen sink or disposal drain running 1-1/2 inch tubular, this nut is the wrong size.
3) Is the 8030LW nut metal or plastic, and will it hold up on an exposed lavatory trap?
It is a die cast nut with a chrome plated finish, so it is metal and meant to be seen. On an exposed trap under a wall hung or pedestal lavatory, the chrome plating matches chrome tubular P-traps and tailpieces. Plastic nuts are fine inside a cabinet but look wrong on an open install.
4) Can I use the Oatey 8030LW to replace a cracked plastic slip joint nut on a chrome trap?
Yes, as long as the joint is 1-1/4 inch slip joint. Slip joint threads at a given tubular size are common across chrome and plastic tubular parts, so a 1-1/4 inch die cast nut will thread onto a 1-1/4 inch trap or tailpiece. Remember the washer is not included with the 8030LW.
