You get the complete lavatory drain assembly: the semi-cast open grid strainer, the PO plug body with its nuts and washers, and the 1-1/4 in. x 6 in. 17 gauge tailpiece. That is everything from the sink bowl down to the trap connection. You still supply the P-trap itself and plumber's putty or a silicone bead for seating the flange.

It is an open grid strainer, not a pop-up. Water drains continuously through the semi-cast grid, and the overflow port in the body picks up the bowl overflow. If the lavatory needs a stopper the user can close, this is the wrong part. Grid drains are the usual pick for commercial restrooms, schools, and multi-family common areas exactly because there is no linkage, no pivot rod, and no stopper to go missing.

With an overflow. The 760-1 is a PO (patent overflow) plug, meaning the body is ported to pick up the overflow channel cast into the lavatory. On a bowl with no overflow, the port has nothing to draw from and you want a non-overflow grid strainer instead.

Brass, with a plated chrome finish. That matters on two counts for an MRO buyer: it threads and seals against a brass trap without galling a plastic nut, and it stands up to repeated tightening on fixtures that get serviced often. The chrome plating matches standard chrome exposed trap and supply work.

A sloped gasket, which is what you want when the underside of the lavatory bowl is angled rather than flat. The taper takes up that angle so the washer seats evenly and the locknut pulls the flange down square. A flat gasket on a sloped china bowl is the classic cause of a slow seep at the drain body.

Heavier wall. The 760-1 uses a 17 gauge brass tailpiece, which is the thick-wall tubing spec used on commercial and institutional lavatories; thinner gauges crush more easily under a slip nut and dent when someone stores a mop bucket under the sink. For a property manager standardizing restroom fixtures, the heavier gauge is the reason to spec this over a residential-grade assembly.
