Delaney Hardware BD0104 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does a barn door wall mount guide actually do, and do I need one?
A wall mount guide keeps the bottom of a sliding barn door from swinging away from the wall as it rolls. The Delaney BD0104 guide fastens to the wall below the door path rather than to the floor, so there is no floor track to cut into finished flooring or to trip over. Any top-hung barn door needs some form of bottom guide; without one the door sways off the wall and can strike casing or hardware.
2) Is the Delaney barn door guide floor mounted or wall mounted?
Wall mounted. It anchors to the wall surface beneath the door rather than into the floor, which matters on tile, stone or finished hardwood where you do not want to drill the floor, and in commercial corridors where a floor guide is a trip and cleaning obstacle. If your install calls for a floor-anchored guide or a T-guide set into a bottom groove, this is the wrong part.
3) What finish is the Delaney BD0104 barn door guide, and will it match black barn door track?
It comes in one finish, US19 black. That is the standard flat black used across barn door track and hangers, so it reads consistently with black rails, straps and pulls on the same opening. If your track is bronze, nickel or brass, this guide will not match.
4) Does the Delaney BD0104 come with the barn door track and hangers?
No. The BD0104 is the wall mount guide only, a single black component. Track, rollers, hangers, stops and the pull are ordered separately as part of a barn door kit or as individual pieces.
5) Can I use the Delaney wall mount guide with a barn door kit from another brand?
The guide mounts to the wall and captures the door edge, so it is independent of whichever track system carries the door. What it has to suit is the door itself and the wall surface it lands on, not the brand of the rail above. Match it on finish, black here, if the rest of your hardware is visible.
6) How many guides do I need for a double barn door opening?
One guide per door leaf. A biparting pair of barn doors takes two BD0104 guides, one under each leaf, since each door is held to the wall independently at its own bottom edge.
