The SMT-MTL grille is the metal alternative to the standard grille on the Delta Breez SMT130, SMT130H, SMT150, SMT150D, SLM80 and SLM100 fans. It is not a universal grille, so if your fan is a different Delta Breez series or another brand, this is not the cover for it.
2) How big is the SMT-MTL bath fan grille, and will it cover my existing ceiling opening?
It measures 13 x 13 x 3/8 inches. That square face is sized to the SMT130, SMT130H, SMT150, SMT150D, SLM80 and SLM100 housings it replaces, so swapping the stock grille for this one on one of those fans leaves no gap to patch. On any other fan opening, measure before you order.
3) Is this a whole bath fan or just the cover?
Cover only. The SMT-MTL is a replacement grille for a Delta Breez BreezSmart ventilation fan, with no motor, blower or housing included. You need an existing SMT130, SMT130H, SMT150, SMT150D, SLM80 or SLM100 fan already in the ceiling.
4) Can I paint the SMT-MTL grille to match a ceiling color?
Yes. The grille ships painted white but is paintable, so it can be finished to match a ceiling or an accent color. It is galvanized steel underneath rather than plastic, which is why it takes paint and holds a flat edge.
