Deltana classifies the 10BB as residential. For apartment unit doors, closets, gates, and interior pairs it does the job, but on a commercial opening under a hardware schedule, or anywhere the bolt is part of a fire door assembly, you want a listed surface bolt or flush bolt specified for that use instead.

That is one of the common uses. Mounted on the inactive leaf, the bolt throws into a strike at the head or into the threshold, which holds that leaf fixed so the active leaf can latch against it. The 10 inch length lets you reach a head or floor strike from a mid-height mounting position. Longer bolts like this one spread the mounting screws over more of the door face and put the handle farther from the strike, which is what you want when the strike is at the head of a tall door or down at the threshold and you still want to operate it from a comfortable height. For a small gate or cabinet door, a shorter barrel bolt is the better fit.

The 10BB32D is finished in 32D, satin stainless steel, which is the standard satin stainless used across lever, hinge, and bolt lines, so it reads the same as other 32D hardware on the same opening. Note it will not match US26D satin chrome exactly on close inspection, since one is plated brass and this bolt is stainless throughout.
