Deltana 88GB36-10B – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Why does the Deltana 88GB36 grab bar have a center post, and what does that mean for mounting?
At 36 inches long, the 88GB36 carries a third mounting point in the middle of the run in addition to the two end bases. That center post has to land on solid backing just like the ends, so plan three anchor points across the wall rather than two. On a tiled wall, the center post location usually needs to be worked out before the board goes up.
2) How far off the wall does the Deltana 88 Series 36 inch grab bar sit?
Projection is 3-3/4 inches overall, with 2-1/2 inches of inside clearance between the bar and the wall face. The bar itself is 1-1/4 inches in diameter and the mounting bases are 2-5/8 inches wide. The 1-1/4 inch bar diameter and roughly 1-1/2 inch grip clearance are the dimensions accessibility layouts are normally checked against, so measure your finished wall surface, not the substrate.
3) Are the mounting screws on the Deltana 88GB36 visible after installation?
No. The 88 Series uses concealed screw installation, so the fasteners are hidden behind the base covers once the bar is set. That is the reason this bar gets specified in hotel and high-end residential baths where an exposed-flange institutional bar would look wrong.
4) Is the Deltana 88GB36 solid brass or brass-plated tube?
Solid brass, both the bar and the substrate material. That matters in a wet environment: a solid brass body will not rust through the way a plated steel tube can once the finish is nicked. Deltana rates the 88 Series for commercial use.
5) Can I use the 36 inch Deltana 88 Series grab bar in a hotel or multi-family bathroom?
Yes, it is a commercial-rated grab bar and the 88 Series is a contemporary design line, which is why it turns up in hospitality and upscale multi-family work more often than on the institutional side. If you are standardizing across a property, the 88 Series comes in several lengths so you can run the same look at the tub, the shower, and beside the water closet.
6) What finishes does the Deltana 88GB36 grab bar come in?
Three: Polished Chrome, Brushed Nickel, and Oil Rubbed Bronze. If you are matching other Deltana bath accessories or door hardware in the same room, order the bar in the same finish designation rather than eyeballing it, since chrome and brushed nickel read very differently under warm bathroom lighting.
7) How is the Deltana 88GB36 sold, per bar or in a set?
Each. One 36 inch bar with its mounting bases and center post per unit, priced individually. If you are outfitting a bathroom with a vertical and a horizontal bar, that is two separate line items.
