Deltana BBN2003/12 Towel Bar, 12", BBN Series

The BBN2003/12 is a 12 inch towel bar, so plan for a 12 inch run plus the mounting posts at each end. Each post base is 1-3/4 inches wide. It stands 3 inches off the wall, which is the clearance to allow between the bar and anything beside it, like a door swing or a vanity edge.

A 12 inch bar like the Deltana BBN2003/12 holds a single hand towel or a folded bath towel, so it suits a powder room, a narrow wall between a vanity and a door, or a spot beside a pedestal sink. If you need a full bath towel hung flat, go to a 24 inch bar such as the Delaney Congaree 200 Series 24 inch towel bar set or the Orca Camano 24 inch set. For a full towel plus a spare, look at a double bar like the Emtek Traditional Brass Double Towel Bar.

It is sold as a complete 12 inch towel bar, ordered each, with the mounting posts included (base width 1-3/4 inches). Some competing items are sold as pieces, for example the Delaney Cascade 300 Series towel bar only and the Delaney Denali 1100 Series towel bar post only, where you buy the bar and posts separately.

The Deltana BBN2003/12 is a 12-inch towel bar, so for a wider run look at longer bars: the Sure-Loc Baden and Sure-Loc Boulder towel bars are offered in 18-inch, 24-inch and 30-inch, the Sure-Loc Brighton is a 30-inch bar, and both the Delaney Congaree 200 Series set and the Orca Hardware Camano set are 24 inches.

Two items in the peer group are partial assemblies, not a full towel bar: the Delaney Cascade 300 Series Towel Bar Only (Square) is the bar without posts, and the Delaney Denali 1100 Series Towel Bar Post Only is the post alone. If you need a complete unit, the Deltana BBN2003/12 12-inch towel bar or a full set such as the Delaney Acadia 900 Series Towel Bar Set is the right direction.

Deltana classes the BBN Series as commercial, and the zinc and aluminum build is aimed at cost-effective fit-out rather than showpiece work. That makes it a fit for apartment turns, hotel guest baths and similar repeat installs where you want the same bar on every unit. For heavy public restroom traffic, a solid brass bar will take more abuse.

Brushed nickel is the only finish offered on the BBN2003/12. If your other bath fittings are oil-rubbed bronze or polished brass, you would be matching to a different line, such as the Emtek Sandcast Bronze or Emtek Modern Brass bath hardware.

The BBN2003/12 is built from zinc and aluminum in Deltana's BBN Series. If brass is wanted instead, Emtek offers the Modern Brass Towel Bar and the Transitional Brass Towel Bar as single-bar options, plus the Traditional Brass Double Towel Bar and the Sandcast Bronze Brass Double Towel Bar in two-bar configurations.

For a straightforward single towel bar in the same vein, the Sure-Loc Basic Towel Bar is the nearest peer, with the Sure-Loc Boulder and Sure-Loc Baden bars as the next step up in series styling. Orca Hardware also offers full sets in its 27-Cypress, 36-Swirl and 48-Blakely series. Note the Deltana BBN2003/12 is specifically a 12-inch bar in zinc and aluminum, brushed nickel finish.

The BBN2003/12 belongs to the Deltana BBN Bathroom Series, a collection of bath accessories in the same zinc and aluminum construction, so stay within BBN for rings, hooks and paper holders that match the brushed nickel bar. Mixing in another brand's bath line will not match the finish or the post profile.
