Deltana BPRC150 Base Plate for Knobs, 1-1/2" Diameter

The BPRC150 is a round backplate that sits between a Deltana decorative knob and the cabinet door or drawer face. It is an accessory to Deltana Decorative Knobs, not a knob itself, so you order it in addition to the knob you want. Buyers use it to hide old fastener holes or wear rings on a reface job, and to give a small knob more visual presence on a flat slab door.

It is a 1-1/2 inch diameter round plate. That is the figure that decides whether it will cover what is underneath: on a reface, a 1-1/2 inch circle conceals a single center bore and light wear ring, but it will not span a pair of 3 inch center-to-center pull holes. For those you need a longer rectangular backplate rather than this round one.

Deltana lists it as an accessory to its own decorative knobs, and that is the pairing to rely on. Mechanically it is a round plate the knob screw passes through, so what governs fit is the knob's own base diameter: a knob with a footprint wider than 1-1/2 inches will overhang the plate and defeat the point of it. Match it to a knob whose base is smaller than the plate.

Eight: PVD Polished Brass, Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Nickel, Antique Nickel, Polished Chrome and Brushed Chrome. If you are standardizing a kitchen or a unit turn, order the plates in the same finish code as the knobs at the same time. PVD Polished Brass and standard Polished Brass are separate options, so pick deliberately rather than by name alone.

Each. The unit of measure is one plate, so a 30-door kitchen means 30 line quantity, and you match that count to your knob count rather than assuming a bagged set.

Deltana classes it as residential. For a multi-family unit turn or a model-home kitchen it is a reasonable fit, but for high-traffic institutional casework, breakroom or lab cabinetry, specify hardware rated for commercial duty instead.

Optional. A knob mounts fine on its own screw through the door. You add a plate like the BPRC150 when you want to cover an existing mark or oversized hole from previous hardware, protect the door face from knuckle wear, or bulk up the look of a small knob. If the doors are new and the knob base is generous, skip it.

Solid brass throughout, both the material and the substrate. That matters on a repeat-touch cabinet: the finish sits on brass rather than on plated steel, so a scuff does not expose a rusting base metal. It also means the plate can be worked lightly if a hole needs easing.
