DEWALT 06305-PWR – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do I hammer the DEWALT drop-in setting tool or chuck it in a drill?
It's a hand tool. You drop the anchor in the hole, insert the 06305-PWR, and strike it with a hammer until the tool shoulder bottoms on the anchor lip, which expands the anchor against the concrete. It is not a drill bit and should not be chucked or driven with a rotary hammer in rotation.
2) Is the DEWALT 06305-PWR a single tool or a kit?
Ordering the 06305-PWR gets you the setting tool itself, catalogued as a set item at 0.13 lbs. Anchors are bought separately, and so is the carbide bit for drilling the hole.
3) Can I reuse a drop-in setting tool or is it one per job?
A steel setting tool like the 06305-PWR is a reusable hand tool, not a consumable. One tool sets as many 1/4 inch drop-ins as you need; replace it when the striking end mushrooms or the setting nose wears. At 0.13 lbs it's small enough to keep in the pouch with the 1/4 inch anchors.
