1) What does the Low Impedance (LoZ) mode on the Klein CL900 actually do for me?
LoZ mode drops a low-impedance load across the test leads so induced or stray voltage on an unloaded conductor collapses instead of showing as a live reading. If you have chased a 40V ghost on a dead run pulled next to an energized one, that is the mode that settles it. Useful anywhere long parallel runs, switch legs, or abandoned conductors are involved. Note it is a deliberate mode, not the default measurement.
2) Can I use the CL900 to measure DC current on solar or battery systems?
Yes. Current measurement is 2000A AC and DC, and voltage measurement covers 1000V on both AC and DC, so PV strings, battery banks, and DC drives are all in range.
