Mustee 4242M – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size opening does the Mustee 4242M Durabase shower floor fit?
The Mustee 4242M Durabase is a 42 by 42 inch square shower floor, so it's sized for a square 42 x 42 alcove or corner shower framing. If your rough opening is a rectangle (for example 32 x 48 or 36 x 60), this square base won't fill it and you'd want a Mustee Durabase model matched to those dimensions instead.
2) Is the Mustee 4242M a complete shower or just the base?
Just the base. The 4242M Durabase is a shower floor only, the pan the shower sits on. Walls or a surround, the drain assembly, and the valve and trim are all separate purchases. Contractors bidding a full shower on a 42 x 42 footprint need to line up wall panels or tile board and a compatible shower drain alongside it.
3) What part number do I order for the Mustee 42x42 square shower pan?
Order Mustee model 4242M. That is the manufacturer part number for the 42 x 42 white Durabase shower floor, and it's the number a distributor or wholesaler should quote against to make sure the square version is what ships rather than a rectangular Durabase.
