Mustee 4242CM – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Mustee 4242CM shower floor fit a 42 by 42 inch corner shower opening?
That is exactly the footprint it is built for. The Mustee 4242CM Durabase is a neo-angle shower floor measuring 42 x 42 inches, so it drops into a square corner framed at 42 inches on each wall leg. Neo-angle means the front face is cut at an angle across the corner rather than running straight, so plan the door and glass panels for an angled front, not a flat one.
2) Is a neo-angle shower base like the Mustee 4242CM the right choice, or should I use a standard square base?
Pick the neo-angle when the shower sits in a corner and you want the entry to face the room diagonally. The 4242CM Durabase covers a 42 x 42 inch corner but its front is angled across that corner, which buys floor clearance in a tight bathroom and takes a neo-angle door and side panels. If the opening is framed for a straight front wall or you already have a flat-front glass enclosure, a square or rectangular base is the correct part instead, because the glass will not land on an angled curb.
3) What part number do I order for the Mustee 42x42 neo-angle Durabase shower floor?
Order Mustee 4242CM. That is the manufacturer part number for the 42 x 42 inch white Durabase neo-angle shower floor, and it is the only model on the family, so there are no size or color suffixes to add.
4) Does the Mustee 4242CM shower floor include a drain or the shower walls?
It is the floor pan on its own. The 4242CM is a shower base, so wall surrounds, the neo-angle door and glass, and the drain assembly are all separate line items on the order. Budget for a drain that suits your waste line and a wall kit sized to a 42 x 42 inch corner.
5) What color does the Mustee 4242CM Durabase shower floor come in?
White only. The 4242CM is sold in a single configuration, so there is no finish or color choice to specify when ordering, just the model number.
