B-LINE 4D22-240GLV – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can pre-galvanized strut channel be used outdoors?
Pre-galvanized is a mill zinc coating applied to the sheet before forming, so the cut ends and any field cuts are bare steel. It is intended for dry indoor and protected locations. For exterior, wet or corrosive areas, specify hot-dip galvanized or stainless strut instead, and if you do cut this material anywhere, treat the cut ends with a cold galvanizing compound.
2) Will standard 1-5/8 inch strut nuts and fittings fit the B-Line 4D22 channel?
The 4D22 is a 2.12 inch square profile in Eaton B-Line's 4Dimension series. Fittings, spring nuts, clamps and brackets are matched to the channel's slot and lip geometry, so order 4Dimension series hardware sized for the 4D22 channel type. Do not assume a fitting off a different strut family drops in.
