B-LINE 4DDN228SS6 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line 4Dimension channel nut OK for outdoor or wash-down/coastal use?
It is Type 316 stainless steel, which is the grade specified for coastal, marine and chemical wash-down environments where chloride attack eats plated or even 304 stainless hardware. For those installs, pair it with 316 stainless strut and 316 bolts so you are not mixing metals in the joint.
2) What part number do I order for the 316 stainless B-Line 4Dimension strut nut?
Order Eaton B-Line model 4DDN228SS6. The SS6 suffix is the Type 316 stainless version. If your spec calls for plain electro-zinc or hot-dip, that is a different suffix and a different part.
3) Does the B-Line strut channel nut come with a bolt?
No. The 4DDN228SS6 is the nut only. You supply the threaded fastener, and in a Type 316 application it should be 316 stainless as well to keep the corrosion resistance of the joint intact. Order bolts and washers as separate line items.
