1) Is the toggle wing included with the B-Line ATB-37-300, or do I order it separately?
It ships as a complete two-part assembly, and a combo round head bolt is provided with it. Nothing else to buy to make the anchor work, though you supply any washer you want under the head for soft or oversized fixture holes.
2) Is this B-Line anchor UL Listed for electrical support work?
Yes, the ATB-37-300 toggle bolt is UL Listed. For inspectors on electrical rough-in that is usually the box they need ticked when you are hanging boxes, strut, or channel off hollow construction.
3) Should I use a toggle bolt or an expansion anchor for hanging conduit and boxes?
Toggle bolts like the ATB-37-300 are for hollow base material, drywall, block cells, hollow deck, where there is a cavity behind the face for the wing to spread and bear on the back side. If you are anchoring into solid concrete or filled block there is nothing for the toggle to open into, and you want a concrete expansion or wedge anchor instead. Rule of thumb: cavity behind the surface, toggle; solid behind the surface, mechanical concrete anchor.
4) What material is the B-Line ATB-37-300 made from, and can I use it outdoors?
Carbon steel. That makes it a dry interior fastener, plain carbon steel will corrode in wet, exterior, or washdown locations. For damp or outdoor runs, specify a stainless or hot dip galvanized anchor instead.
5) What is the bolt head like, and what driver do I need?
A combo round head is provided on the ATB-37-300, so it takes either a slotted or a Phillips driver. Handy overhead, where you can start it by hand with a screwdriver and finish with a cordless driver without swapping bits for a different fastener.
