B-LINE AWF2424SP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size enclosure does the B-Line AWF2424SP back panel fit?
The AWF2424SP flat panel is sized for Eaton B-Line 24 x 24 inch fiberglass enclosures. The panel itself measures 21 inches high by 17 inches wide, so it mounts inside the 24 x 24 box rather than matching its outside dimensions. If your enclosure is a different size, you need the panel cut for that size, not this one.
2) Can I use this as a replacement panel in an existing B-Line fiberglass box?
Yes, provided the box is a 24 x 24 inch Eaton B-Line fiberglass enclosure. The AWF2424SP is the flat panel dimensioned for that size, so it drops onto the same internal mounting points. Pull your old panel and confirm it measures 21 x 17 inches before you order.
3) Is the AWF2424SP panel metal or plastic?
Stainless steel, with a smooth brushed finish. That matters if you are mounting into a fiberglass NEMA enclosure in a washdown or corrosive area and want a panel that won't rust out behind your gear. It also means the panel is conductive, so plan your grounding and standoff insulation accordingly.
4) Will adding this panel affect the NEMA rating of my fiberglass enclosure?
No. The AWF2424SP is an interior flat mounting panel for Eaton B-Line fiberglass enclosures and is a NEMA-certified accessory for them, so it installs on the enclosure's existing internal mounting provisions without breaching the walls or the gasketed door. Nothing about it requires a new hole through the box.
5) What exactly do I get when I order AWF2424SP, and what do I still need?
One flat stainless steel subpanel, 21 x 17 inches, for a 24 x 24 Eaton B-Line fiberglass enclosure. The enclosure itself is separate. Any DIN rail, wireway, standoffs or terminal blocks you want on the panel are separate items too, and you drill and tap the panel for your own component layout.
6) How much usable mounting area do I actually have on this subpanel?
Roughly 21 inches by 17 inches of flat surface. Lay out your breakers, contactors and terminal strips against that, not against the enclosure's 24 x 24 face, and keep clearance at the edges for the mounting hardware and for wire bending space around the panel perimeter.
