1) Which enclosure size does the Eaton B-Line AWF3622P back panel fit?
The AWF3622P panel is sized for 36 x 22 inch Eaton B-Line fiberglass enclosures. It is not a universal blank: order it against a 36 x 22 box, not a 36 x 30 or 24 x 20, since the mounting hole pattern follows the enclosure's internal standoffs.
2) Is the AWF3622P back panel steel or fiberglass?
Steel, white powder coated, even though it goes into a fiberglass enclosure. Steel gives you a solid substrate for tapping and self-drilling screws when mounting contactors, terminal blocks and DIN rail, which is why panels are steel while the box is nonmetallic. One consequence worth knowing: a steel panel is conductive, so if your installation requires the mounting plate bonded, land a ground conductor on it.
3) Does the AWF3622P panel affect the NEMA rating of my fiberglass enclosure?
No. The AWF3622P is an interior back panel that mounts on the enclosure's internal standoffs and never breaks the envelope, so the enclosure keeps whatever rating it was built to. The panel itself is UL Listed. Ratings are compromised by holes you cut in the box walls, not by the mounting plate inside it.
4) Do Eaton B-Line fiberglass enclosures come with a back panel, or do I order it separately?
Back panels are ordered separately from the enclosure. The AWF3622P is the plate alone, sold as a panel accessory, so if you have specified a 36 x 22 fiberglass box and need something to mount your components to, add this line item. Mounting hardware to fasten your devices to the panel is your own supply.
