The B-Line 4A-18-VTU12 is a vertical tee up, a three-way fitting that takes a straight horizontal tray run and branches a third leg upward out of it. Use it where a main run continues straight through and a branch has to climb to a higher elevation, instead of cutting and field-fabricating the junction. It is built on a 12 inch radius, so the upward branch curves rather than turning square.
2) Will this fitting work if my branch needs to drop down instead of up?
No. The 4A-18-VTU12 is a vertical tee UP, so the branch leg comes off the top of the run. For a branch heading downward you need the vertical tee down version in the same series, width and radius. The two are not interchangeable and cannot be flipped in the field.
3) Does this vertical tee come with splice plates and hardware?
The part supplied is the 4A-18-VTU12 fitting itself. Splice plates, connection hardware and any supports or hold-down clamps at the fitting are ordered separately, so count those into the job when you spec the run.
