A vertical outside bend carries the tray run over an obstruction or up a wall, turning the tray on the vertical plane with the fitting bending away from the cable. Eaton B-Line part 4A-12-90VO12 makes that turn at 90 degrees on a 12 inch radius, so cables keep a controlled bend as they change elevation. If your run needs to turn down and into a drop, that is an inside bend, not this fitting.

It matches 12 inch wide, 4 inch deep ladder tray in the Series 2-5 aluminum family. The fitting itself measures 15 inches in length. Tray width and rail depth both have to match the straight sections it splices to, so a 12 inch wide, 4 inch rail run is the one this drops into.

The fitting bends on a 12 inch radius, so the cable follows a 12 inch inside curve through the elevation change. Check that against the minimum bending radius your cable manufacturer publishes for the largest conductor in the tray, since large power cable often needs more. B-Line Series 2-5 fittings are made in other radii if 12 inches is short for your cable.

Aluminum. That keeps the fitting light, 5.4 lb, and it is the usual choice where corrosion is a concern or where crews are handling tray overhead on lifts. If your specification calls for hot dip galvanized or stainless steel tray, this aluminum fitting is not the match, and mixing aluminum fittings into a steel run creates a dissimilar metal joint you generally want to avoid.

The order covers the bend fitting itself, model 4A-12-90VO12. Splice plates, hardware, and any supports or hangers at the transition are ordered separately, so add the matching Series 2-5 aluminum splice connectors for both ends before the crew is on site.
