A vertical outside bend carries the tray run up and over an obstruction, with the fitting bending away from the cable side. Model 4A-30-90VO36 turns 90 degrees on a 36 inch radius, so use it where the run has to change elevation and the cables ride on the outside of the curve. If the run drops and the cables would ride on the inside of the curve, you want a vertical inside bend instead. Getting the two reversed is the most common ordering mistake on elevation changes.

Aluminum construction keeps the weight down, which matters on a 30 inch wide fitting hung overhead: this one comes in at 16.6 lb. Aluminum also holds up better than painted steel in damp or corrosive areas such as plants, tunnels and coastal sites. It should be run with aluminum straight sections and aluminum hardware so you are not mixing dissimilar metals at the splice.

Splice plates, bolts and any expansion or ground connectors are ordered separately, and they need to be the aluminum Series 2-5 hardware that suits a 4 inch rail so the bolt pattern and the metals match.
