1) Is this a vertical inside or vertical outside bend, and which one do I need?
It is a vertical OUTSIDE bend. On an outside bend the tray turns so the cable bears against the outside of the curve, which is what you use when a horizontal run drops down, for example coming off a wall or over an obstruction and heading toward the floor. If your run rises up over an obstruction and the cable rides on the inside of the curve, that is a vertical inside bend and this part will not do it.
2) Is this cable tray bend aluminum or steel?
Aluminum. That keeps the weight down for overhead work, 6.4 lb for this fitting, and it is the usual choice where a galvanized steel tray would corrode. Keep the material consistent with the straight sections and splice plates on the run to avoid mixing dissimilar metals at the joints.
3) Does this Eaton B-Line tray fitting carry any agency certification for a Canadian job?
It is CSA certified, which is what an inspector on a Canadian project will look for on cable tray fittings.
4) Do splice plates and hardware come with the 6A-09-45VO12 bend?
Order splice plates and connection hardware separately. The 6A-09-45VO12 is the bend fitting itself; each end still needs the series-matched splice plate set to join it to the adjoining straight section. Plan on two sets per fitting for a mid-run installation.
5) How much does this cable tray bend weigh for overhead rigging and support spacing?
6.4 lb for the fitting alone. Add cable fill weight when you size trapeze or wall bracket supports, and support the fitting on both sides of the bend rather than relying on the adjoining straight sections to carry it.
