B-LINE 6A-36-SR06 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the B-Line 6A-36-SR06 straight reducer connect?
It is a straight reducer that transitions a 36 inch wide cable tray run down to a 6 inch wide run, in a 6 inch tray height. The reducer itself measures 16.72 inches in length, so allow that much straight space in the run for the transition. Both tray widths it serves, 36 inch and 6 inch, are stated on the part.
2) Is the B-Line 6A-36-SR06 reducer aluminum or steel?
Aluminum. That matters on two counts: it keeps the piece light at 7.1 pounds, which one person can hold up on a lift while splicing, and it suits damp or corrosive environments where a painted steel tray would need coating maintenance. Match the reducer material to the rest of the run so you are not mixing aluminum and steel at a splice.
3) Is this Eaton B-Line cable tray reducer approved for Canadian projects?
The 6A-36-SR06 reducer carries CSA certification, which is what an inspector on a Canadian job will be looking for on cable tray components.
4) What is the exact part number for the B-Line 36 inch to 6 inch aluminum tray reducer?
Order it as Eaton B-Line 6A-36-SR06. That number reads out as the Series 2-5 straight reducer, 6 inch rail height, 36 inch nominal width, reducing to 6 inch.
