It depends which way the tray turns relative to the cables. Where the run climbs and the cables bend over the top of the curve, the fitting is a vertical outside bend, which is what the 6A-24-60VO36 is. Where the run drops and the cables follow the inside of the curve, you need the matching vertical inside bend instead. Ordering the wrong one leaves the fitting facing backwards at the splice plate. Horizontal direction changes take a horizontal elbow, not either of these.

Allow about 35.677 inches of length for the fitting itself. That is the overall dimension of the 60 degree, 36 inch radius bend, and it is what you deduct from your straight section lengths when you lay out the run against a ceiling or beam.

Aluminum. That is the reason most specs call it out for exterior, wash-down, coastal and process areas where a plain steel tray would need galvanizing or paint. It also keeps the weight down: this 24 inch wide fitting is 13.5 lb, which is a one-man lift on a lift or ladder.

CSA is the certification carried on the 6A-24-60VO36 vertical outside bend, so it can be specified on jobs where the electrical inspector requires CSA-certified tray components.

The 6A-24-60VO36 is supplied as the bend fitting itself. Splice plates, bolts and the hangers or trapeze supports at each side of the elevation change are ordered separately and need to match the Series 2-5 aluminum rail profile and the 6 inch rail height.

The 36 inch radius sets the minimum curve the cables follow through the fitting. Large-diameter shielded or armored power cable often carries a minimum bending radius of 12 times the cable OD, so check your cable's published figure against 36 inches before you commit. B-Line vertical bends are also made in smaller radii, so the 36 inch version is the one to pick when the cable, not the space, drives the layout.
