12 inches high, 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep. That 6 inch depth is the number to check first, since it decides whether your breakers, relays or drive fit behind a closed door once a back panel is mounted. Body steel is 14 gauge wall thickness in aluminum, and the complete enclosure weighs 5.5 lb.

Wall mount with external mounting feet. The feet sit outside the sealed body, so you bolt through them and never pierce the enclosure, which keeps the 4X seal intact. Plan your unistrut or wall anchors to the foot pattern, not the 12 x 12 inch box footprint.

Hinged, on a continuous piano hinge, with stainless steel door clamps to draw the door down onto the gasket. That matters on a wall box you open regularly for troubleshooting: the door stays with the enclosure instead of being set on the floor, and there are no cover screws to lose. Screw-cover versions of a JIC box are the alternative if the box is opened once a year.

Aluminum with a #4 brushed finish gives you corrosion resistance without a coating that can chip, and at 5.5 lb for a 12 x 12 x 6 box it is far lighter than a stainless equivalent, which matters on a strut stand or a thin partition wall. Painted steel is the cheaper choice indoors but relies on its paint film; stainless is what you step up to for aggressive chemical or food-plant washdown chemistry.

No knockouts. Like JIC enclosures generally, it ships as a sealed body and you punch your own conduit entries on the job, which is what lets you place them where the raceway actually lands. Use watertight hub fittings or 4X rated cord grips on every penetration, otherwise the NEMA 4X rating and the poured in-place gasket do you no good.
