B-LINE SB5474096TG – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line SB5474096TG rack rated for seismic zone 4 installations?
Yes. The SB5474096TG is built as a seismic zone 4 network bay closed duct rack, so it is intended for installations in the highest seismic risk zone. It is also UL Listed. Anchoring to the floor per the site's structural drawings is what makes that rating meaningful in the field.
2) What is the maximum equipment mounting depth on this Eaton B-Line network bay rack?
Rail mounting depth is adjustable out to a maximum of 30 inches, which covers deep switches, UPS units, and most server chassis mounted on a two-post frame. Deeper gear than that needs a four-post rack or an enclosure instead.
3) How heavy is the SB5474096TG rack and how many people do I need to set it?
The frame weighs 124 lb as shipped in steel, so it is a two-person set and stand-up in most rooms. Once upright it needs to be anchored before any equipment goes in it.
4) Will the finish on this B-Line rack match the other racks already in my telecom room?
It ships in telco gray powder coat over steel, the standard color used across central office and network bay equipment, so it lines up visually with existing telco-gray lineups. Powder coat over steel also holds up to cable pulls and rack wrenches better than a painted finish.
5) What does the closed duct, top channel style on this network bay rack do for cable management?
The SB5474096TG is a closed duct rack in a top channel style, meaning cable runs are carried in an enclosed duct rather than open troughs, and the top channel ties bays together in a lineup and gives you the overhead path for cable to cross between racks. That matters when you are building a multi-bay row rather than setting one standalone frame.
6) Is this an open frame rack or a cabinet with doors?
Open frame. The SB5474096TG is a two-post style open frame network bay, not an enclosure, so there are no side panels, doors, or locks. If you need physical security at the rack or airflow containment, specify a cabinet instead; open frame is the choice where access from all sides and cable density matter more.
