The AW1212AP is sized for a 12 x 12 inch enclosure. The panel itself measures 10.87 by 10.875 inches across the face, with the 12 inch figure being the nominal box size it is cut for. That undersize is normal for a back panel, since it has to sit inside the box on the mounting studs rather than span the full interior.

Yes, the AW1212AP is rated for NEMA 12 service, which covers indoor enclosures protecting against dust, falling dirt, and dripping non-corrosive liquids, the usual case for a plant floor control panel. It is also CSA C22.2 certified, so it is acceptable on Canadian jobs as well as US.

It is the back panel only, not a box. You get the flat aluminum plate that components mount to inside a JIC or small enclosure. If you are starting from scratch you still need the enclosure body and door, plus the mounting hardware or studs the box uses to carry the panel.

If the cabinet is a 12 x 12 JIC or small enclosure using a standard back panel, the AW1212AP drops into that footprint at 10.87 by 10.875 inches. Before ordering, measure the existing plate corner to corner and check the stud spacing in your box, since panel hole patterns vary between enclosure makers and this is a flat aluminum plate rather than a pattern-matched replacement for a specific competitor's box.

The white finish makes it far easier to see wire numbers, labels, and small terminal markings inside a dim enclosure, which is why white is the standard for control panel backplates. It also gives a clean surface for layout marking. If you specifically need a conductive panel surface for bonding, a plated or galvanized panel is the better call; the powder coat on the AW1212AP has to be broken through at the bond point.
