B-LINE B32KO6-240GRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the B32 a shallow strut channel or the full 1-5/8 deep profile?
It's the shallow, half-height profile. At 1.37 in high by 1.62 in wide, the B32 is the back-to-back-free single channel used where a full 1-5/8 by 1-5/8 deep section won't fit or isn't needed for the load, such as light conduit runs and small pipe supports. The 1.62 in opening still takes standard 1-5/8 strut nuts and fittings.
2) Will standard strut nuts and clamps fit the B-Line B32 channel?
Yes. The channel opening is the standard 1-5/8 inch series width (1.62 in), so 1-5/8 strut nuts, spring nuts, conduit clamps, pipe straps and fittings seat in it the same way they do on full-depth channel. What changes with the shallow 1.37 in section is depth, not lip geometry.
3) What is the KO6 hole pattern on this B-Line strut?
KO6 is the knockout-style pattern punched in the back of the B32 channel, giving you fixed mounting points along the run instead of a solid back. If your drawing calls out solid back or a slotted pattern, KO6 is not the same part, order the channel type with that pattern designation.
4) Can I use DURA GREEN strut channel outdoors or in a corrosive area?
DURA GREEN is B-Line's painted coating over 12 gauge steel. It's a coated finish for indoor and protected applications and for color-coding runs (green is often used to separate one trade's supports from another). For sustained wet, exterior, or chemically aggressive areas, spec a hot-dip galvanized or stainless channel instead.
5) How thick is the steel on this strut, and is 12 gauge enough for hanging conduit racks?
The B32 channel is 12 gauge steel, which is the standard commercial strut thickness used for conduit racks, trapeze hangers and equipment supports. Bear in mind this is the shallow 1.37 in profile, not the deep section, so for long unsupported trapeze spans or heavy pipe you want the full 1-5/8 by 1-5/8 channel or a double-back-to-back assembly.
6) What do I order to match an existing green B-Line strut run in my building?
Match on four things, and they're all in the part number B32KO6-240GRN: B32 channel type, KO6 hole pattern, 240 in length, and the DURA GREEN finish. If the existing run is a different channel type or hole pattern, the fittings may still fit but the mounting holes won't line up with your anchors.
7) Does this strut channel come with nuts, bolts or brackets?
No. This is the bare 240 in channel stick only. Strut nuts, hardware, end caps, closure strips, post bases and any brackets or fittings are ordered separately. Plan the fitting count off your layout before you order the channel.
