The B198-12HDG clevis bracket is rated for a uniform load of 800 lbs. That is a uniform rating, so a concentrated point load at mid-span should be treated differently than an evenly distributed one.

It is steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish, which is the finish B-Line uses for exterior, damp, and corrosive service. Hot-dip coats the part after fabrication, so cut edges and welds get covered too, unlike a pre-galvanized strut fitting.

Channel opening faces upward on the B198. That matters on install: the strut slot is accessible from above, so spring nuts and hardware drop in from the top side. If your run needs the opening turned down or sideways, this is the wrong orientation and you want a different fitting in the series.

It measures 12 inches in length/depth, 3.5 inches in height, and 1.62 inches in width, and weighs 2.84 lbs. The 1.62 inch width is the usual strut-fitting profile dimension, so plan clearance around the channel accordingly.

The B198-12HDG is supplied as the galvanized steel bracket itself. Channel nuts, bolts, washers, and the anchors into the structure are separate items and should be ordered with it, and match the hardware finish to the hot-dip galvanized bracket if the location is exterior.

A clevis bracket ties a strut channel to a structural point, giving you a pinned connection between the support run and the building steel or a hanger rod. On the B198, the channel opening faces upward and the bracket is 12 inches long, so it spans out from the attachment point to carry the channel and whatever is hung from it, up to the 800 lb uniform rating.

Order it as Eaton B-Line B198-12HDG. The HDG suffix is the hot-dipped galvanized finish; the 12 is the 12 inch length. Quote that full string to avoid getting a plain or electro-plated version.
