B-LINE B293-18GRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How much weight can the B-Line B293-18GRN strut bracket hold?
The B293-18GRN carries a uniform load rating of 400 lb. That is a uniform load across the 18 inch bracket, not a point load at the free end, so spread the supported run rather than hanging everything off the tip. For heavier runs, gang two brackets or step up to a trapeze hung from rod.
2) Which way does the strut channel face on the B293-18 bracket?
Channel opening faces upward on the B293-18GRN. Mount it to the wall and the strut slot sits on top of the arm, so you drop your spring nuts, pipe clamps or conduit straps in from above. If your work has to hang below the arm, you want the opposite orientation instead.
3) How many bolts do I need to mount this B-Line strut bracket to the wall?
One. The B293-18GRN has a single vertical mounting hole, 9/16 inch in diameter, which takes a 1/2 inch bolt or anchor with clearance. Because it anchors on one fastener, back it into structure or a properly rated anchor, and keep the load uniform along the arm.
4) Will standard 1-5/8 strut nuts and conduit clamps fit this bracket?
Yes. The B293-18GRN is a 1.62 inch wide steel channel bracket, which is nominal 1-5/8 inch strut, so spring nuts, channel nuts, conduit clamps and pipe straps built for 1-5/8 channel seat in the slot. Fasteners and nuts are ordered separately.
5) What are the dimensions and weight of the B293-18GRN bracket?
It measures 18 inches long, 3.5 inches high and 1.62 inches wide, and weighs 3.4 lb. The 1.62 inch width is standard 1-5/8 inch strut profile, so standard strut nuts, channel nuts and clamps for 1-5/8 channel drop straight into it.
6) Is the B293-18GRN bracket a one-piece cantilever arm or does it need separate strut?
One piece. The B293-18GRN is a complete 18 inch cantilever arm with the channel formed in, so you are not cutting strut and adding a post base. You supply the anchor for the single 9/16 inch hole plus the channel nuts for whatever you are supporting.
7) What is DURA GREEN finish and where can I use it?
DURA GREEN is Eaton B-Line's green coating over the steel bracket. It is the finish B-Line uses for added corrosion resistance beyond plain plated steel, so it suits damp or washdown-adjacent interior areas and covered exterior work. For continuously wet or chemical exposure, stainless strut hardware is the better call.
