The B238LZN is a four hole offset bent tee that turns a 90 degree corner in a strut run, in the left hand configuration. It's a steel bracket with four bolt holes, two legs bent at 90 degrees with an offset between them, so one strut member can tie into another where the two channels sit on different planes rather than flush face to face.

B238LZN is the left hand part. An offset bent tee is handed because the offset leg turns to one side, so a left fitting will not mirror onto a corner that needs the opposite turn. Sight down the strut run and confirm which way the branch leaves before ordering; if it turns the other way you need the right hand equivalent from the same B-Line series.

The B238LZN carries an electro-plated finish, which is a light zinc coating intended for dry indoor service, mechanical rooms, ceilings and interior electrical rooms. For exterior runs, parking structures, wash-down areas or corrosive environments, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless fitting instead, since electro-plate will not hold up to sustained moisture.

What ships is the steel fitting itself. Four bolt holes are punched in it, so plan on four sets of strut nuts and hex head bolts, sized to your channel, to land it. Order those separately along with any spring nuts you need for overhead work.

Use the offset bent tee when the two strut members do not sit in the same plane, which is the usual case where a branch run crosses the face of a trunk channel. The bend and offset carry the connection across that step so both legs land flat on their channel. A flat plate or 90 degree angle only works where the two pieces meet face to face on a common surface; forcing a flat fitting over an offset joint puts the bolts in bending and loosens the run.

B238LZN is a single stocked part number, so it's ordered by the piece and quantity is up to you. Contractors trimming out a conduit rack usually count one tee per branch connection plus spares, since the left and right versions are not interchangeable and a short count on one hand stalls the run.
