B-Line B409-14SS4 Eaton series strut fittings and accessories, 4.62" Height, 14" Length, 1.62" Width, 2.74lbs, Steel, Single channel bracket, Uniform load capacity 800 lbs, Stainless steel type 304

The B409-14SS4 single channel bracket is rated for a uniform load of 800 lbs. That is a uniform (distributed) rating, not a point load at the end of the arm, so a concentrated load hung at the tip of the 14 inch length will be lower. Size your supports accordingly when hanging conduit racks, cable tray, or pipe off the bracket.

It is Type 304 stainless steel, not a plated carbon finish. That makes it suitable for wash-down areas, food processing rooms, coastal exterior work, and damp mechanical spaces where a plain electro-galvanized strut fitting would rust at the cut edges. Pair it with 304 stainless strut and 304 stainless channel nuts and bolts so you are not mixing metals at the connection.

The B409-14SS4 measures 14 in length, 4.62 in height, and 1.62 in width, and weighs 2.74 lb. The 1-5/8 nominal width is the standard strut channel profile, so it sits flush against 1-5/8 inch strut. Use the 14 inch dimension as the usable arm projection when you are laying out clearance from the wall or column face.

No. The B409-14SS4 is the bracket alone, 2.74 lb of 304 stainless. You order the channel nuts, bolts, and washers separately, and for a 304 application they should also be 304 stainless so the assembly does not become the corrosion point. Count two fasteners per end connection when you are taking off quantities.

A single channel bracket like the B409-14SS4 is a one-piece cantilever arm: it bolts to a wall, column, or vertical strut and projects out 14 inches to carry conduit, small tray, or equipment. Use a gusseted or braced bracket instead when the load sits near the outer end and you need help against the moment. Use a post base when you are standing strut up off a floor or pad rather than hanging off a vertical surface.

Order Eaton B-Line part number B409-14SS4. The SS4 suffix is the Type 304 stainless version, so if your spec calls for plain steel or a galvanized finish, that is a different suffix on the same B409 bracket family.
