1) Can the Eaton B-Line 12124 HC junction box be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. The 12124 HC is a NEMA Type 1 enclosure, which is indoor-use only and rated to keep out falling dirt with no protection against rain, splashing water, or hose-down. For outdoor or wet locations you need a Type 3R, 4, or 4X box instead. It carries a UL 50 listing for enclosure construction.
