1) Can the B-Line 16124 SC junction box be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. The 16124 SC is a NEMA Type 1 enclosure, which is indoor use only, protecting against incidental contact with the enclosed equipment and falling dirt. It gives no protection against rain, hose-down, dust ingress or corrosive environments. For a wet or outdoor location you need a Type 3R or Type 4 enclosure instead. It is UL 50 listed.
