1) Can the Eaton B-Line 36306 TCS NK enclosure be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. The 36306 TCS NK cabinet is a NEMA 1 enclosure, which is indoor use only, for protection against incidental contact and falling dirt. It offers no rated protection against rain, hose-down, dust or oil. For a wet or outdoor location you need a NEMA 3R, 4 or 4X enclosure instead.
2) What are the actual box dimensions of the B-Line 36306 TCS NK utility cabinet?
36 inches high, 30 inches wide and 6 inches deep. That 6 inch depth is the number to check first: it is a shallow wall cabinet, so deep-bodied breakers, large lug terminations or stacked DIN rail assemblies may not clear the door. Weight is 86.7 lb, so plan a two-person lift and mounting into structure, not drywall alone.
3) Does this B-Line utility enclosure come with knockouts, or do I have to punch my own conduit entries?
No knockouts. The 36306 TCS NK ships as a blank-wall cabinet, so every conduit entry gets field-located and punched by the installer. That is the point of the NK version, it lets you place entries to suit the run instead of working around factory holes. Budget hole saw or knockout punch time into the install.
4) How is this B-Line cabinet mounted to the wall?
Surface mount, using thru holes in the back of the enclosure. There is no flush or recessed trim arrangement here, the box hangs on the finished wall face. At 86.7 lb empty, anchor into studs, strut or masonry rather than hollow-wall anchors, and add the weight of whatever gear you are installing inside.
5) What gauge steel is the B-Line 36306 TCS NK made from, and will it match my other electrical room enclosures?
Carbon steel at 12 gauge, painted ANSI 61 grey.
