The 30308-43PT carries a NEMA 4 rating, so it is built to keep out windblown dust, rain, splashing water and hose-directed water. That covers outdoor wall mounting and indoor washdown areas. It is not a NEMA 4X box, so in salt spray or corrosive chemical service you want a stainless or non-metallic 4X enclosure instead. Weather sealing comes from a seamless poured in-place gasket on the hinged cover.
