B-LINE 121260 G – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Eaton B-Line 121260 G wireway rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. The 121260 G is a NEMA 1 wireway, which is general purpose indoor use only. It keeps personnel out of live parts and catches falling dirt, but it is not sealed against water, washdown, or weather. For a loading dock, exterior wall, or any damp or wet location you need a NEMA 3R raintight wireway instead. It is CSA Certified.
2) Do I need to drill the B-Line 12 x 12 wireway to bring conduit into it?
Not for standard entries. The section comes with 19 knockouts on the top and 19 on the bottom, so you can land conduit into the trough without punching steel on site. Anything off pattern, or entries in the sides or ends, still needs a punch or hole saw.
3) Is this a screw cover or a hinged cover wireway?
Screw cover. The full length cover on the 121260 G is secured with plated screws along its edges. That is the right choice for a run you pull once and close up, and it is what most spec drawings call for on feeder gutters. If the run is a maintenance point you will open repeatedly, a hinged cover wireway is easier to live with because you are not chasing loose screws off a ladder.
4) What do I still have to order to build out a full wireway run with this section?
The 121260 G is one straight 60 inch length of trough with its cover and screws. A run also needs connectors to join section to section, plus whatever fittings your layout calls for: elbows or tees to turn corners, end plates to close the run, and hangers or strut for support. Order those separately and match them to the 12 x 12 G size so the flanges line up.
5) Will this 12 x 12 B-Line section connect to wireway I already have on the job?
It joins to other 12 x 12 G series screw cover sections and fittings. Wireway is not cross compatible between sizes or between different manufacturers' lines, so a 12 x 12 will not mate to an 8 x 8 run, and a screw cover body will not accept a hinged cover. If you are extending an existing run, confirm the installed sections are also 12 by 12 before ordering.
6) What gauge steel and what color is the B-Line 121260 G wireway?
14 gauge steel, finished in ANSI 61 gray. That gray is the standard industrial equipment color, so the run matches typical panelboards, disconnects, and control enclosures on the same wall without anyone specifying a custom finish.
