1) Is the Eaton B-Line 6660 G wireway rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. The 6660 G is a NEMA 1 enclosure, which is general purpose indoor only. It keeps fingers and falling dirt out but offers no protection against water, so keep it inside dry areas. For a washdown area, loading dock, or any exterior run you need a NEMA 3R or 4 rated wireway instead. It is CSA Certified.
2) How does the B-Line 6660 G wireway mount to a wall or strut?
It mounts through holes in the back of the trough, so you fasten it directly to the wall, backboard, or strut with your own hardware. No mounting brackets or fasteners come with the wireway, so order those separately along with whatever connectors, end plates, and hangers your run needs.
3) Does the cover on this 6x6 wireway hinge or lift off?
It is a screw cover, not hinged. The full length cover comes off after you back out the plated screws that secure it, which gives you the whole side open for pulling wire. If your crew is opening the trough repeatedly for changes, a hinged cover wireway is the friendlier choice; screw cover is the standard where the run gets closed up and left alone.
4) How many knockouts are on this 60 inch wireway and where are they?
There are 19 knockouts along the top and 19 along the bottom of the 60 inch section, so you can drop conduit into the trough from either side of the run without drilling. The ends are thru-hole style for coupling sections together and for feeding through.
5) What gauge steel and what color is the Eaton B-Line G series wireway?
16 gauge steel, finished in ANSI 61 gray, which is the standard gray used on switchgear and panelboards, so added sections and other gear on the same wall match. The screws are plated.
