B-LINE 1212 HSE NK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size wireway does the B-Line 1212 HSE NK end plate fit?
It closes off a 12 x 12 inch wireway run. The plate itself is listed at 12 in height and 12 in length/depth, so it caps the open end of square-duct trough of that cross section. If your trough is 4x4, 6x6 or 8x8, this is the wrong end plate.
2) Does the 1212 HSE NK wireway end come with a knockout for conduit?
No. This is the no-knockout version, a solid steel closure plate. If you need to bring conduit out through the end of the trough, you either need a knockout-style end plate or you punch the hole yourself in the field.
3) Is this wireway end plate rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. The B-Line 1212 HSE NK end is a NEMA 1 enclosure part, which is indoor, general purpose only, protecting against incidental contact and falling dirt. It is not a raintight Type 3R part and should not be used outdoors or in washdown areas.
4) Is the B-Line 1212 wireway end UL Listed for an inspected commercial job?
Yes, it carries a UL Listing, which is what an electrical inspector will look for on the trough system components in a commercial or institutional install.
5) Will this end plate match the gray finish on my existing B-Line wireway trough?
It is painted ANSI 61 gray, the standard gray used across B-Line NEMA 1 wireway, so it matches existing trough and fittings in that finish rather than standing out on the run.
6) What part number do I order for a 12x12 no-knockout B-Line wireway end?
Order Eaton B-Line model 1212 HSE NK. That designation reads out as the 12x12 hinged-style enclosure end with no knockout, steel, ANSI 61 gray.
7) How heavy is a 12x12 wireway end plate, and can one person set it?
About 3.087 lb. It is a one-hand part on a ladder, no second man needed to hold it while you fasten it up.
8) Why is a 12x12 wireway end plate listed at 6.25 inches on one dimension?
The 12 x 12 figures are the trough opening it covers; the 6.25 in width is the part's own packed dimension including the return flange that laps onto the duct body. The face still closes a full 12 x 12 square trough end.
