B-LINE 1212 E – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the B-Line 1212 E end plate fit a 12 x 12 wireway trough?
Yes. The Eaton B-Line 1212 E is sized for 12 inch by 12 inch wireway, matching the 12 in height and 12 in width of a standard 12x12 trough run. It closes off the open end of the run. If your trough is 4x4, 6x6, or 8x8, you need the end plate sized to that cross section instead.
2) Is the 1212 E wireway end rated for indoor use only?
It is a NEMA 1 enclosure part, which means general purpose indoor protection against incidental contact with the enclosed wiring and falling dirt. It is not rainproof or dusttight, so keep it to dry indoor locations. Outdoor or washdown runs call for a NEMA 3R or 4 wireway system and its matching end.
3) Is this the end plate or the wireway body itself?
It is the end plate only, the flat steel closure for the end of a 12x12 trough. It does not include a section of wireway, a cover, or connectors, so order the trough lengths and fittings separately.
4) Is the Eaton B-Line 1212 E UL Listed for electrical inspection?
Yes, the 1212 E wireway end is UL Listed, which is what an inspector will look for on the enclosure components of a wireway run in a commercial or institutional installation.
5) What finish does the 1212 E come in, and will it match my existing wireway run?
Steel with ANSI 61 gray paint. That is the same gray used across Eaton B-Line NEMA 1 wireway, so a replacement end plate blends with an existing painted gray trough run rather than standing out.
6) Do I need one or two end plates for a wireway run?
Each 1212 E covers one open end. A trough run that terminates at both ends needs two; if one end feeds into a panel, box, or fitting, you only need one. It ships as a single end plate per model 1212 E.
7) How heavy is a 12x12 B-Line wireway end plate for shipping and handling?
About 2.778 lb for the steel 12x12 end. Light enough for one person to hold in place while fastening, which matters when you are closing the end of a trough on a ladder.
