B-LINE 126-12LCF – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size wireway does the B-Line 126-12LCF cutoff fitting fit?
The Eaton B-Line 126-12LCF cutoff fitting is built for 12 x 12 wireway: the fitting measures 12 in width by 12 in length/depth with a 6 in height. If your run is 4 x 4, 6 x 6 or 8 x 8 trough, this is the wrong size fitting.
2) Is this B-Line wireway cutoff fitting rated for a washdown or dust-heavy area?
It is a NEMA 12 fitting, which covers dust, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquids indoors. That is not a washdown or hosedown rating and it is not outdoor rated. If the run is exposed to weather or direct spray, you need a NEMA 3R or 4 wireway system instead of NEMA 12.
3) What does a wireway cutoff fitting actually do at the end of a trough run?
A cutoff fitting closes and finishes the run where the wireway ends or has to be cut short, giving you a proper terminated end instead of an open cut edge. This one is a lay-in style component, so conductors drop into the trough rather than being pulled through, and the fitting keeps that same lay-in access at the end of the run.
4) How heavy is the 12 x 12 cutoff fitting, and can one person set it?
It weighs 17.235 lb. That is a one-hand-awkward, two-hand-comfortable piece of steel, so a single electrician can set it, but plan on supporting the trough before you break the joint on an overhead run.
5) Is this B-Line cutoff fitting steel or aluminum?
Painted steel, finished in ANSI 61 gray. If your spec calls for stainless or aluminum trough for corrosive duty, a painted steel NEMA 12 fitting will not meet it.
