The 44120-12LW is a NEMA 12 wireway, so it's built for indoor use against falling dirt, circulating dust, lint and dripping or splashing non-corrosive liquids, including oil and coolant. An oil-resistant gasket runs under the hinged cover to hold that seal. It is not a NEMA 3R or 4X enclosure, so don't use it outdoors, in direct hosedown, or in corrosive wash areas. For those openings you need a rain-tight or stainless wireway instead.

Hinged. The cover is carried on butt hinges with quick-release latches, so it swings open and stays with the trough while you lay in conductors. That's the difference from a screw-cover gutter, where you're handling a loose 10-foot lid and a bag of screws on a ladder. If your spec calls for a removable screw cover instead, this isn't that part.

It's designed for wireway hanger support, which is the standard method for suspending trough off structure or mounting it clear of a wall. At 48.269 lb for the 10-foot stick, plan hanger spacing and anchors for that load plus the conductor fill. Hangers and anchors are ordered separately from the trough itself, so add them to the job list with the correct connectors and end plates for your run.
