The 8818 GRT is a NEMA 3R rated steel trough, so it is built for outdoor use where rain and falling debris are the concern, such as a service wall, pump panel run, or rooftop equipment feed. NEMA 3R is not a washdown or dust-tight rating, so if the location sees hose-directed water or heavy dust, you want a 4 or 12 enclosure instead. It also carries CSA certification.

The 8818 GRT measures 8 inches high, 8 inches wide and 18 inches long, giving you a square 8 x 8 cross section for pulling and splicing. At 12.819 lb empty, one person can hold it while the first two fasteners go in, but plan your anchors for the added weight of the conductors once it is loaded.

There are 5 bottom knockouts on the 8818 GRT for bringing conduit up into the trough from below. Any other entries, including the ends for coupling sections together, you make yourself in the field with a hole saw or punch.

16 gauge steel, finished in ANSI 61 gray. That is the standard light gray you see on switchgear and panel lineups, so a run of this gutter will match adjacent electrical equipment rather than stand out. The screws are plated.
