1) Will this Crouse-Hinds connector work on rigid or IMC conduit?
No. It is an EMT fitting only. The set screw body grips thin-wall EMT on the outside; rigid and IMC are threaded and need a threaded coupling or a rigid-to-EMT compression or threadless fitting instead. Using it on rigid conduit will not give you a proper mechanical or grounding connection.
2) Can I use a set screw EMT connector in a wet or outdoor location?
No. This connector is rated for ordinary, non-hazardous locations, and set screw fittings are dry-location only. For wet, outdoor, or concrete-poured applications you need a raintight compression (gland nut) EMT connector. Keep the set screw version to indoor dry runs, exposed or in walls.
3) Is this an insulated throat connector so I don't need a separate bushing?
Yes, the throat is insulated as supplied. That protects conductor insulation as wire is pulled through the box entry, so you are not adding a plastic bushing at each termination. Insulated throat fittings are commonly specified for wire-pull protection on EMT runs.
