1) What's the difference between the Crouse-Hinds GUP214 and GUP215 junction box?
The back hub is the only difference. GUP214 comes with (4) 3/4 inch back hubs, GUP215 comes with no back hub at all. Both share the same five hubs elsewhere: two 3/4 inch on the bottom, two on top, one on the side. Order the GUP215 when the box mounts flat against a wall or structural steel and you only need conduit entering from the top, bottom, or side. Order the GUP214 when you're feeding through the back or need the extra entries for a pull point.
2) Can I use the Crouse-Hinds GUP junction box in a Class I Division 1 area?
Yes. The GUP box carries a Class I, Division 1 NEC hazardous rating, which is the classification for areas where flammable gases or vapors are present under normal operating conditions.
