1) Will a Crouse-Hinds SG sealing gasket work on EMT, or is it only for rigid conduit?
These are built for rigid and IMC conduit. Trade sizes are shared across rigid, IMC and EMT, but the SG gasket seats between a threaded rigid or IMC hub or locknut connection and the enclosure wall, and that is the fit the gasket is dimensioned for. If the run is EMT with a set-screw or compression connector, use a sealing washer or gasket made for that connector body instead.
2) Can I use these Crouse-Hinds sealing gaskets in a hazardous or classified area?
No. The SG series gaskets are rated for ordinary, non-hazardous locations only. For a Class I or Class II classified area you need hardware listed for that classification, not an ordinary-location sealing gasket. Wet or damp ordinary locations, like an outdoor panel or a wash-down area in a plant, are what these are for.
3) How thick is a Crouse-Hinds SG sealing gasket, and will it affect thread engagement at the enclosure?
The gasket is .19 inch high, so plan on roughly three sixteenths of an inch of standoff between the hub or locknut face and the enclosure wall. On a threaded rigid or IMC connection that is normally absorbed in available thread, but on a thin-wall box where you are already short on threads it is worth checking that the locknut still pulls up tight before you commit to the whole panel.
